A man has died in Anderlecht on Thursday after being stabbed in the middle of the street, the Brussels-Midi police zone said, confirming a report by Sudinfo.
The events took place at around 12:00 on Thursday on Rue Veeweyde in Anderlecht. The injured victim took refuge in a snack bar. Emergency services were immediately alerted and rushed to the scene.
They tried to resuscitate the victim for half an hour, but to no avail as he died shortly after. According to information gathered by Sudinfo, the victim was a 24-year-old man.
"We still do not know where this man came from or in what circumstances he was injured," explained the Brussels-Midi police zone. "We are conducting an investigation."
