Eurostar, the high-speed train operator between Paris, London, Brussels and Amsterdam is to give its trains an extra cleaning because of the bedbug epidemic affecting the French capital, spokesperson Céline Ronquetti said, on Wednesday.
However, she stressed that the insects were rarely present on Eurostar trains, as these are regularly deep-cleaned using a hot water injection-extraction cleaning procedure. “This is a method that has proved effective in eliminating bed bugs,” she stressed.
“We will be applying a preventive treatment throughout our network,” Ms Ronquetti said.
