Just under a month after the launch of the autumn Covid-19 vaccination campaign, more than 700,000 injections have been given, the Ministry of Health stated on its website.
A total of 711,401 vaccines were administered between 15 September and 13 October – a figure that almost doubled in one week.
Most vaccinations were carried out by general practitioners (406,089), with pharmacists administering 204,878 vaccinations. Residential care centres (65,816) and hospitals and occupational health services (34,618) also contributed to the campaign.
Vaccination against Covid-19 is recommended for all people aged 65 or over, people with weakened immune systems or comorbidities, pregnant women and healthcare workers. These are the so-called 'priority groups'.
