The new EuroDreams European lottery launched on Friday will enable lucky winners to receive up to €20,000 a month for 30 years, starting with the first draw, set for 6 November.

This is a new iteration of the game of chance in which participants choose six numbers from a total of 40, plus an additional one called the ‘Dream number,’ from a total of five. Two draws will take place each week, on Mondays and Thursdays. The first grids can be entered from 30 October.

The game will initially be launched in eight of the countries participating in EuroMillions, itself launched almost 20 years ago: Austria, Belgium, France, Ireland, Luxembourg, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland.

Lucky winners who bet on the correct seven numbers will win a jackpot of €20,000 a month for 30 years, with a maximum of three winners. This is a probability of 1 in 19 million.

An annuity is also provided for the second category of lucky winners, who will win €2,000 a month for five years if they pick the first six correct numbers without finding the Dream number. This category will have a maximum of 12 winners,

Should more players guess the combination, the total winnings in each category will be divided equally between all the winners in the group. In the event of death, the balance of the winnings will be passed on to the respective heirs.

The other winning categories will be awarded a single amount, with a minimum of €2.5 – the ticket price – for the last category.

“It’s always a great source of pride for us to be a member of this lottery community and to play a major role in it,” said National Lottery CEO Jannie Haek. “This game complements our portfolio particularly alongside its big brother, EuroMillions.”
