The City of Brussels has decided to scrap leaving parking fines on windscreens.
Instead, vehicles that have been improperly parked will be scanned and parking fines will be sent in the post directly to the home of the owner of the vehicle.
This measure, which comes as too many parking tickets placed on windscreens were getting lost, has been in place since Friday 1 November.
However, it is not the first time that Brussels residents will receive their parking fines this way. In some cases, scanners were already being used to detect improperly parked cars after which some parking fines were already being sent via post.
