Train services between Brussels and Amsterdam were disrupted on Monday due to an accident involving a Eurostar train in Rotterdam, according to Belgian rail infrastructure manager, Infrabel.
A damaged wire fell onto a Paris-bound Eurostar train in Rotterdam on Monday morning, requiring the evacuation of all 260 passengers. The cause of the accident remains to be investigated.
High-speed trains connecting Belgium and the Netherlands are being redirected via Line 12. As a result, travel times are expected to increase by 15 to 20 minutes.
Local rail services in Rotterdam resumed at around 11:30, said Dutch railway company NS.
Rail users are advised to check travel planning applications and websites before setting off.
