A new edition of a yearly acceleration programme containing Europe’s ten most promising start-ups in clean mobility has been launched.
The programme is run by the European Startup Prize for Mobility (EUSP), a public-private partnership and accelerator programme founded by MEP and Chairwoman of the Parliament Transport Committee, Karima Delli (Greens/EFA, France) for the 5th edition.
The start-ups were invited on 26 October to the European Parliament Brussels to pitch their technology in front of a live audience of several hundreds and an online audience of hundreds of thousands. The event was broadcast live by the Brussels Times as its official media partner.
Speakers at the event include Europe’s political and business leadership including European Commission’s EVP Maros Sefcovic, European Investment Bank VP Kris Peeters, the Prince of Monaco Albert II, and C-level officials of EIT Urban Mobility, German federal highway authority (Die Autobahn), French river mobility authority (VNF), Europe’s Rail JU, Crédit Agricole Auto Bank, Europcar Mobility Group, European Climate Foundation, Ayvens, Groupe ADP, RATP, and others.
The ten winning startups who were invited to Brussels were selected among over 700 applicants. This follows a rigorous process which included both written applications and oral interviews.
They will now embark on an acceleration programme which includes investment opportunities, mentoring, business consultancy, and a tour to Europe’s largest tech events in Lisbon, Helsinki and Lucerne.
“Mobility is the only sector which does not decrease its carbon emissions in Europe. In that regard, green innovation shows high potential to help decarbonise and make mobility more accessible. The European Startup Prize for Mobility will provide support to its community of top innovators via an investment and acceleration programme while the European Parliament opens its door to give them the European visibility they deserve.” said MEP Karima Delli, founder of the European Startup Prize for Mobility and Chairwoman of the transport and tourism committee (TRAN) at the European Parliament.
