Friday afternoon will see dry weather with glimpses of sun piercing the grey sky, according to the Royal Meteorological Institute's (RMI) midday report.
In contrast, the Ardennes will see some sun. However, there will be chilly temperatures throughout the country, peaking at -3°C south of the Sambre-et-Meuse line, 2°C on the coast, and between 0°C to 1°C inland, all under a moderate northeasterly wind.
On Friday evening, whilst clearer skies form in the northwest, clouds and freezing fog will build up over the southeast. Widespread frost will make roads slippery and temperatures will range from -8°C in the High Fens to -2°C by the coast, with wind becoming light and variable.
Saturday starts with freezing fog in many regions, chiefly the northwest and the Ardennes. Then, breaks in the clouds will gradually prevail. However, in the west, there will be cloudy skies with a few wintry showers from the North Sea. Maximum temperatures will range from -5°C in the High Fens to 3 or 4°C on the coast.
On Sunday, there will be snowfall even on lower grounds. The highest temperatures will range from -2°C to 3°C with wind speeds of up to 55 km/h.
