A stabbing took place in Brussels city centre on Sunday evening, police spokesperson Ilse Van de Keere has confirmed.
Police received a report of a serious injury on Rue Neuve just after 8pm. Officers quickly rushed to the scene and established a security perimeter.
“The suspect reportedly stabbed the victim multiple times before fleeing”, van de Keere said.
The victim is currently in intensive care, but is no longer in a life-threatening condition.
Police are conducting an investigation to determine the cause and circumstances surrounding the incident.
