At least ten individuals have been killed and 61 injured following a multi-vehicle accident in north-eastern Turkey, says the state-run Anadolu news agency.
The collision involved seven vehicles, including a bus and a lorry along the North-Marmara highway, a route shrouded in dense fog.
Six drivers have been arrested on alleged negligence charges, pending an accident investigation in Sakarya province, located in the country’s north-west.
The governor of Sakarya, Yaşar Karadeniz, suggested to on-site reporters that the pileup may have occurred after a car collided with a lorry and other vehicles then crashed into the stationary ones.
Public broadcaster TRT shared images of rescue teams actively working at the scene of the accident.
