The world’s wealthiest woman, Francoise Bettencourt Meyers, has become the first woman to be worth over $100 billion, according to Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index.

This puts her in 12th place in the Billionaires Index.

This milestone comes after L’Oréal, from which she inherited her wealth, had its best year on the stock market in 25 years in 2023, with its shares reaching their highest values since 1998.

Bettencourt Meyers (70) holds a seat on the board of her grandfather’s company. She and her family own 35% of the shares in the beauty product provider.
