Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne tendered her government’s resignation to President Emmanuel Macron, which he accepted, according to a statement from the Élysée Palace.
In a post on social media, Macron wholeheartedly praised the departing government leader for her exemplary work in the nation’s service.
Borne and her team will continue to manage daily affairs until a new government is appointed.
It had been expected for Prime Minister Borne to leave office, with a new cabinet reshuffle expected by Marcon.
