Belgium's King Philippe and Queen Mathilde awarded 518 financial grants totalling €117,084 in 2023, the Royal Palace announced on Friday.
The Royal Palace’s Department of Requests and Social Affairs received 3,195 applications for financial aid last year. However, no specifics were provided about the issues related to social distress.
Queen’s Charities, moreover, offered financial support amounting to €106,708 for social initiatives targeting young adults aged 18 to 25.
These projects were aimed primarily at assisting orphans and young people who had lived in institutions.
