Pairi Daiza zoo is planning to expand its workforce by 600, half of which are student jobs.
The Belgian zoo in Brugelette (Hainaut) plans to bolster its workforce with 300 student contracts, 200 seasonal and 100 permanent roles, it announced on Friday. To showcase the vast array of non-student jobs available, Pairi Daiza is hosting two job fairs on 31 January and 1 February.
Jobs up for grabs range from gardener, lifesaver and receptionist to cook or plumber, making for a diverse line-up.
Initially, the park is seeking 300 salaried employees, two thirds of which will be seasonal jobs that will run from 10 February through to 5 January 2025.
Additional roles are available for those already working three-quarter time elsewhere and are looking to top up their hours with flexi-jobs. For those seeking a career change or looking to learn new hospitality industry skills, training programmes will be on offer. These will be delivered at the zoo by Horeca Formation and Forem, followed by internships at Pairi Daiza.
These 300 vacant positions will be detailed over the two job fair days from 10:00 to 18:00 on 31 January and 13:00 to 20:00 on 1 February. Prospective candidates, armed with their questions and CVs, will not need to register and will be met by HR representatives from Pairi Daiza at the park's entrance.
A similar event for student roles will be organised in due course.
