A shooting incident woke residents on Saturday morning in Opgrimbie, Maasmechelen (Limburg Province).
Emergency services transported one injured man to the hospital. His condition is reported as critical. Authorities are currently hunting for a suspect. An investigation has been initiated by the Limburg prosecution.

The victim, a 41-year-old man from Dilsen-Stokkem, was transported to hospital in a critical condition. "The suspect believed to be a 23-year-old man from Maasmechelen, could not be apprehended at the scene," according to a statement from the local police.
The suspect is officially listed as wanted. In addition to the forensic lab’s evidence examination, the Limburg prosecution has summoned a medical examiner to investigate the injuries sustained by the man in his 40s.
