Belgian ski slopes will be open for business from Thursday, with resorts announcing that enough snow had piled up in previous days to allow for some fun on the tracks.
At least two ski resorts in the eastern Ardennes said snow sport aficionados could take to the pistes from Thursday morning, after a wave of chillier weather covered parts of Belgium in snow on Wednesday.
The Ski Club Spa, located some 50 kilometres southeast of Liège, announced that their slopes would be accessible on both Thursday and Friday.

The Spa ski resort said that there were around 30 centimetres of snow on the tracks and that Alpine and cross-country skiing would be possible as would gliding on snow sleighs.
The Club de Ski Alpin Ovifat, just a dozen kilometres from the German border, said that they were preparing to open up the tracks from 9:30 AM on Thursday, advising clients on Facebook to come early as they said crowds could be expected.
The Haus Ternell ski resort in Eupen opened up the slopes after the first snowflakes fell on Wednesday, making it the first ski station in Belgium to open during the 2019-2020 winter season.
In the Signal de Botrange, the highest point in Belgium, which stands at 694 metres in the eastern High Fens nature reserve, the snowfall on Wednesday led to a pile up of around 25 centimetres of snow.
