In the United Kingdom, the health minister Nadine Dorries said in a statement that she had tested positive for the new coronavirus Covid-19, the BBC announced on Tuesday evening.
The 62-year-old patient states that after being made aware of the diagnosis, she had taken all the recommended precautions and self-isolated.
The announcement comes when a sixth death linked to the epidemic was recorded. The UK has identified 382 cases of infection out of a population of more than 60 million people.
The country's medical association recommends that GPs suspend routine check-ups - for diabetes, blood pressure and long-term heart or lung problems - in order to concentrate on patients requiring more immediate attention.
