Several airlines of the Lufthansa Group are offering a return flight guarantee to their customers, but Belgian subsidiary Brussels Airlines is not doing the same.
Lufthansa, SWISS and Austrian Airlines are offering not only flexible rebooking options but also a basic return flight guarantee on all European routes. This way, the Group hopes to offer its customers extra security, as the coronavirus is still holding back many customers from travelling.
Brussels Airlines, however, is not (yet) taking part in the initiative of its parent company. "We are looking into whether we can also offer [the return flight guarantee] to our customers. We are investigating the options," Kim Daenen, a Brussels Airlines spokesperson, told The Brussels Times.

The guarantee will apply to all journeys with a return flight date up to the end of January 2021, regardless of the fare they booked.
The guarantee means that every Lufthansa passenger travelling on European routes will be able to return to Germany, Austria, or Switzerland regardless of what happens. If necessary, a repatriation flight will be used.
"With this new and so far unique offer, we want to help ensure that our guests can spend their summer holidays in Europe as carefree as possible," said Christina Foerster, Member of the Board Customer & Corporate Responsibility.
