Belgium’s football union, URBSFA, will shift its supporter village from the Atomium to King Baudouin Stadium for the Red Devils’ matches on Saturday against Kazakhstan and on Tuesday against Scotland.
“The URBSFA is doing this to bring the supporters even closer to the Red Devils, not only during the game but also before the match and at half-time,” the union said in a press release.
“Supporters are welcome from 6.30 p.m. in the stadium’s supporter village and they will have a varied choice of football attractions and DJ sets,” URBSFA added. “All supporters will therefore feel at home with their football idols. If supporters like this test, URBSFA will repeat this formula for all the other home matches.”
On Saturday, Eden Hazard will celebrate his 100th cap with the national team. The occasion will see Hazard offering drinks – beer or soft drinks – to the first 1,000 supporters present.
“The supporters will also light up the stadium just before the match by waving thousands of flags, which will really transform the stadium into a red tide, to the sound of ‘Freed from Desire', the song played after every goal of the Red Devils during the World Cup in Russia,” the federation said.
The Red Devils’ official supporter club, named '1895', will also do a tifo in honour of Eden Hazard.
