Director Christopher Nolan is set to adapt Homer’s “The Odyssey” into a feature film, Universal Pictures has announced

The production company revealed on X that the upcoming film, titled “The Odyssey,” will be a mythical action epic shot worldwide with the latest IMAX film technology.

The 54-year-old filmmaker, known for “Memento,” “Inception,” and “Interstellar,” will release the film in theatres on 17 July 2026.

The film will feature a star-studded cast including Matt Damon, Charlize Theron, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, and Robert Pattinson.

“The Odyssey,” a Greek epic written in the late 8th century BC, narrates the perilous journey of the hero Odysseus as he attempts to return to his kingdom of Ithaca following the Trojan War.
