On Wednesday morning, the Atomium welcomed its 11 millionth visitor since its reopening in 2006.

The visitors, a French family visiting the Belgian capital, were greeted with a celebratory reception by the site team.

This milestone consolidates the Atomium's reputation as a major tourist attraction, drawing hundreds of thousands of Belgian and international visitors every year.

"Reaching the milestone of 11 million visitors since 2006 is a special moment for the Atomium and confirms our role as the international symbol of Brussels," said General Manager Julie Almau Gonzalez, noting a "growing number of visitors".

"The Atomium is more than ever a place where people come together to marvel at architecture, art and innovation."

In 2024, the Atomium welcomed approximately 844,427 tourists, setting a new attendance record.

Known for its unique architecture and digital art programme, the Atomium aims to offer visitors an inspiring experience.

In addition to the permanent exhibition detailing its history since 1958, visitors can explore several digital art installations within its spheres.

One notable exhibit is "Echoes of Distant Lights" by Brussels artist Antoine Goldshmidt.

Until 4 January 2026, the digital installation "Crossing" by Visual System takes visitors on an unprecedented sound and light journey.

In 2026, the Atomium will celebrate its 20th anniversary since reopening, with plans for a "festive year" starting in February 2026.
