Jorien and Richard have created Luddites, a literary bookstore in a lovingly-restored Antwerp town house with creaking wood floors, tall bookshelves and antique fireplaces.

‘We are a bookstore, wine bar, and hideout from the modern world,’ they claim. They stock Dutch and English books and serve wine and craft beers in a bar on the first floor.

Sit down upstairs with a book, a glass of Prosecco and admire the temporary exhibition of photos of old Belgian bars from Regula Ysewijn’s affectionate Belgian Café Culture.
