The world-renowned Belgian EDM festival Tomorrowland is usually known for music and parties, but this year the festival will launch its first edition of a sustainability platform. It is Tomorrowland's first edition of 'Love Tomorrow Conference' and on 28 July, speakers will go to Boom to warn young people of the looming dangers for the 'sustainable world of tomorrow'.
The speakers, dubbed the 'Architects of Tomorrow', will include Israeli historian and philosopher Yuval Noah Harari, an intellectual known for writing his series on humanity which includes the bestseller 'Sapiens'.
"No other entertainment brand touches young hearts and encourages behavioural change like Tomorrowland does," said Joris Beckers, Love Tomorrow Conference spokesperson. "With Love Tomorrow Conference, we want to convince sceptics, inspire the already convinced, and let the inspired create real change."
Sustainability focus
Harari will share the stage with David Sirota, the screenwriter of the dark comedy 'Don't Look Up' on Netflix as well as Swedish DJ and environmental activist Ida Engberg. Belgian CEO of a health food company, Lieven Vanlommel, will also join the stage. Tomorrowland confirmed that the lineup for the conference will grow.
On 28 July, the likes of Martin Garrix and Afrojack will make way for the sustainability conference in which up to 5,000 participants are expected on the same stage were EDM celebrations will place the following day.
Tomorrowland's lineup in 2022 includes Armin van Buuren, Paul Kalkbrenner, Robin Schulz and Martin Solvej. Tickets are already sold out, but the official waiting list to buy tickets has now opened.
The festival kicks off on three weekends from Friday, 15 July to Monday, 1 August.
