Amidst another heatwave and some of the hottest days of the year, a Leuven cinema is luring people seeking refreshment inside with a ‘hot-day discount’. Cinema tickets will be cheaper on the days the Royal Meteorological Institute (RMI) indicates that the temperature will exceed 28°C.
Cinema Zed only charges €6 for a ticket on those days instead of the usual €9,50. If you bought your ticket online, you will be refunded the difference.
“Summer is always a calm period, especially when the weather is nice,” Nele Delvaux of Zed told De Standaard. “With the promotion, we want to remind people that the cinema is still there. Anyone looking for refreshment can come to us.”
On Friday, the cinema features the discount for the third day in a row, the tenth day since the start of July. The effect on ticket sales is more noticeable some days than others.
