Elton John bids farewell to the British public on Sunday evening on the stage of the legendary Glastonbury festival, in the south-west of England. It will be both his first and last appearance at the festival.
The 76-year-old star, who will conclude his worldwide farewell tour in Stockholm on 8 July, is expected to close the 51st festival to tens of thousands of festival-goers on the event’s main Pyramid Stage.
It has been announced that the star will perform with four surprise guests. Speculation is rife as to who they will be, with Harry Styles, Billy Joel, Ed Sheeran or Britney Spears among the names circulating. Dua Lipa has also been rumoured after she already made an appearance at Sir Elton’s last concert in Los Angeles last year, alongside Brandi Carlile.
“This is the first time I’ve been asked [to play Glastonbury]”, Elton John revealed at the end of May in an interview with the BBC. “It’s come at the right time, I believe in destiny and it’s the most magnificent way to finish in England.”

The show on Sunday promises to be different from what audiences have seen on the star’s tour, which has deployed extravagant costumes and spectacular visual effects to accompany his songs “Tiny Dancer”, “Rocket Man” or “Your Song”.
This concert “is very special”, John's husband David Furnish told UK broadcaster Sky News this week, confirming a different setlist.
