Famous Brussels nightclub C12 will team up with the "Focking Sober" collective to host Brussels’ first alcohol- and drugs-free club night.
On 14 September, C12 will open its doors to sober patrons for a club night, complete with exhibitions, performances, screenings, tattooing, concerns, and drag shows. According to the organisers, the event will "explore the concept of drugs and alcohol sobriety and what it means for each of us."
The event has already received significant attention from the public. The first round of early bird tickets and a quarter of all tickets have already sold out three weeks ahead of the event. The event is primarily aimed at sober people who lack the space to party without "temptation".
"As soon as Focking Sober suggested this project, it spoke to us directly," Théo Hersart, Financial Director of C12, told Sudinfo. "So we’re offering them the space to organise this major event, which didn’t exist until now."
The collective aims to prove that drugs and alcohol are not needed to party and have a good time. The event will not feature sobriety checks at the door, but will instead ban the sale of alcohol at its venue, instead offering an array of alcohol-free drinks, such as mocktails.
If the event is a success, the organisers plan to offer similar events in the future, in a larger format. The maximum capacity for the Foking Sober event is currently 600 people.
Tickets for the event can be purchased online, or at the door on the day of the event.
