One of the most romantic parks in the country was created in the 19th-century on a long island in the River Meuse. Located near Liège-Guillemins station, the Parc de la Boverie has winding footpaths, little stone bridges, a rock garden and a children’s playground.
You can walk through the park to the tip of the island and sit on a bench watching huge river barges sail past. It’s a peaceful spot that feels a little like Paris. Not so harmonious, mind you.
