Works will be carried out throughout August on the railway line linking Brussels-Midi to Mons and Quévy.
The Belgian railway company SNCB has announced that these works will cost €11 million and will include: replacing crossings, renewing overhead cables, restoring several bridges and engineering structures.
As a result, rail traffic will be interrupted between Braine-le-Comte and Halle in both directions from 30 July to August 28.
Replacement buses
All trains running between Braine-le-Comte and Halle during the week and on public holidays will be replaced by buses.
These will stop at Halle, Tubize and Braine-le-Comte, or at Lembeek and Hénuères for a longer journey of around 30 minutes.
On Thursday 25 and Friday 26 August, trains should be running again but will require a change at Braine-le-Comte. The works are expected to be completed and normal service resumed by 28 August 2022.
