In France, the price of fuel oil will fall to €1.50/litre from 1 September, as the French Government is further reducing its excise duties on fuel while TotalEnergies is granting a reduction to its service stations.
In Belgium, however, it seems unlikely that a similar price drop will happen, according to Olivier Neirynck, the technical director of BRAFCO, the Belgian Federation of Fuel Traders. "This can be done very quickly, within 24 hours, by a ministerial decree. It is a question of political will."
