Trade union CNE issued a strike warning for Charleroi airport employees on Friday. The action will begin at the end of the month if it goes ahead.
The action concerns baggage services and catering services, so the strike has the potential to impact the entire airport's activities if it goes ahead. Workers "have had enough" of harassment in the workplace and too much pressure from management, RTL Info reported.
Staff are often filmed at work and complain of a "lack of humanity" evident in the airport's human resources team. Poor communication has exacerbated workers' discontent. "It's like talking to a wall. There is no dialogue," CNE Permanent Secretary Yves Lambot told Belga News Agency.
The notice will run until 30 April. If management does not issue an adequate response before that date, the action will go ahead. "We expect to be taken seriously," said Lambot.
