A 39-year-old woman was fatally injured in the Antwerp district of Deurne early Sunday, according to local authorities.
Her partner, a 42-year-old man, is suspected of causing the fatal injuries before turning the weapon on himself. Critically hurt, he was rushed to the hospital.
The incident happened at a residence located on Te Boelaarlei. The alleged perpetrator was arrested and, due to the severity of his wounds, was also hospitalised.
Police have launched an investigation into the precise circumstances surrounding the incident.
