Belgium has called for the immediate implementation of the International Court of Justice’s (ICJ) ruling regarding the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
"The ICJ compels Israel to halt its military offensive in Rafah," stated Belgian Foreign Minister Hadja Lahbib.
"Belgium urges the immediate application of this decision. The violence and human suffering in Gaza must end. We are calling for a ceasefire, the release of hostages, and negotiations for two states."
The United Nations’ highest court on Friday ordered Israel to stop its Rafah military offensive, and instructed Israel to keep the Rafah crossing open, allowing "unrestricted" access to humanitarian aid.
In its ruling, it also called for the immediate release of individuals taken hostage by Hamas during their 7 October terror attack on Israel.
