Belgium is introducing a new pass this summer to allow 18 to 24-year-olds to use all public transport in the country for just €59 a month. The 'Youth Holidays Combi' ticket will unite the national and regional networks of SNCB, STIB, TEC and De Lijn.
Thanks to a collaborative effort by Belgium's four public transport companies, young people aged 18 to 24 will be able to enjoy unlimited travel by train, tram, bus and metro with the 'Youth Holidays Combi' ticket this summer.
The seasonal offer will be available from Saturday 29 June to Sunday 1 September 2024, as it is in its first trial phase. It will be available exclusively through SNCB's sales channels and must be loaded onto a personalised MoBIB card, the national rail operator explained in a press release.

Translation: This summer, young people aged 18 to 24 can travel anywhere in Belgium with the 'Youth Holidays Combi'! For €59, this low-cost package gives unlimited use of all public transport (train, tram, bus, metro) for one month.
The classic 'Youth Holidays' is also available again this summer. This allows young people under 26 unlimited train travel throughout Belgium at €35 per month or €18 per week.
"Summer often means travel and discovery. Nearly three quarters of young adults already combine or plan on combining train travel with other public means of transport," SNCB stated.
The four operators believe that young people are in favour of such a product because of various user surveys. "We hope this encourages more people to use public transport for leisure trips," said the CEOs of the public transport firms, Sophie Dutordoir (SNCB), Brieuc de Meeûs (STIB), Ann Schoubs (De Lijn) and Jean-Michel Soors (TEC). "Using buses, trams and trains across the three regions with no hassle is the future."
'Future of mobility'
"Passengers rightly expect simple and attractive fare formulas on the entire public transport network to travel smoothly by bus, tram or train across Belgium. This first pass for young people will be available from this summer and is the future of mobility!" added the four Belgian Mobility Ministers, Georges Gilkinet (Belgium), Elke Van den Brandt (Brussels), Lydia Peeters (Flanders) and Philippe Henry (Wallonia).
"Young people will therefore be able to travel throughout Belgium easily via the 555 SNCB stations and almost 45,000 STIB, De Lijn and TEC stops. Taking public transport will become easier and more attractive, also for new passengers."
