Customs officials confiscated 400 kilogrammes of cocaine at Brussels' international airport in recent days, Belgium's customs department announced in a statement on Monday evening.

The prohibited substance was concealed in suitcases that had been on flights arriving at Zaventem Airport.

On Friday, four packed suitcases originating in Montego Bay, Jamaica, were seized.

On Monday eight suitcases filled with cocaine, brought in on a flight from Cancún, Mexico, were intercepted.

Both cities are famous resort towns.
