A new large letter “C" was unveiled at the Charleroi Airport esplanade this morning by city's tourism councillor Maxime Hardy and airport officials. The letter is part of a digital revitalisation strategy.
Similar large letters have been appearing in various world cities. Tourists photograph them contributing to the recognition of the destination, specifically on social platforms like Instagram.
Charleroi City introduced its first lettering at the Charleroi station last autumn. Since then, they have added four more, including the one at the airport’s esplanade.
Other distinguished locations chosen for these installations include Bois du Cazier, the Stade du Pays de Charleroi, and the laundry heap at the West Gate.
