European fast-charging station specialist Electra announced on Tuesday that it has joined forces with fast-food chain Quick. Electra plans to open and operate at least 23 fast-charging stations in the chain's existing and future restaurants over the next two years.

"The aim of our partnership with Quick is to enable everyone to eat the best burgers in good company, while recharging their electric car," said Louis-Charles Mosseray, general manager of Electra BeNeLux.

"The average customer spends 40 minutes in a fast-food outlet. When you consider that our Electra terminals can recharge the battery of an electric car from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes, it's the ideal way to combine business with pleasure."

These stations will have a fast-charging capacity of 400 kW and will be accessible to everyone at any time of day. The charging point operator aims to become the leading supplier of fast charging points in Belgium and to have a network of fast chargers spread across 250 sites in Belgium and Luxembourg by 2025.

The roll-out will begin this summer with the opening of the first station at the Quick de Namur-Champion.

Electra, which currently operates 47 fast-charging stations in Belgium, plans to install an average of six charging points per station.
