Karen Rentmeesters has been confirmed as the CEO of the Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWDC) after a three-month interim period.
Forty-five-year-old Rentemeesters, a graduate in communication from the Catholic University of Leuven, joined the AWDC in 2010 and has held various roles within the federation.
AWDC Chair Isidore Mörsel praised the unanimous decision by the board, describing it as testament to its deep trust in her.
“During her interim tenure, she has shown to be a significant asset to the organisation," Mörsel said. "She knows the diamond sector like no one else and understands the challenges we are facing today.”
