Sunny weather forecasts for this week have prompted Belgian rail company, SNCB, to announce additional trains to Ostend and Blankenberge stations from Tuesday through to Friday.
"We anticipate an increase in passenger numbers on our routes towards the coast," SNCB stated. Over these four days, eight extra trains a day will operate to and from Blankenberge and Ostend: four outbound and four return.
Passengers are advised to check the journey planner and SNCB mobile app before departure to access predicted train occupancy levels.
"It may be that travellers have to wait a while at the station before they can board a train with enough seating availability. Where possible, everyone is urged to avoid the busiest times heading to and returning from the coast," stated the rail company.
