The weather will be hot and sunny on Sunday afternoon, with highs of no more than 30°C. On Monday, however, the temperatures could rise to 36°C – getting the week off to an "oppressively hot start," according to the Royal Meteorological Institute (RMI).
The weather will be summery, hot and sunny on Sunday afternoon, with highs ranging from 25°C by the sea to 29°C in the rest of the country. This evening and overnight, the skies will be lightly cloudy over the centre and south of the country.
On Monday, the weather will be particularly hot, with highs fluctuating between 32°C and 36°C. Due to the "oppressive" heat, the RMI has issued a yellow alert for much of the country. The provinces of Hainaut, Walloon Brabant and Brussels will see temperatures above 32°C.
On Tuesday, the weather will become much more unstable and the sun will have to give way to significant cloudy developments. Showers will still be fairly isolated during the day, but thunderstorm activity will increase in the evening and the following night.
Still, the weather will remain warm, with highs of 24°C by the sea, 29-30°C in the rest of the country, and even up to 32°C locally.
