Students in the French-speaking education system will enjoy a sunny return to school on Monday morning, according to the Royal Meteorological Institute's (RMI) forecast. The rest of the week will see increasing temperatures, with local highs of up to 30°C by Wednesday.
Brussels and Wallonia will remain dry on Monday morning, with initial broad clearings. Maximum temperatures will hover between 18°C and 19°C in the Ardennes and 21°C or 22°C on flat terrain.
Tuesday will see a sunny sky occasionally obscured by high clouds. Maximum temperatures will fluctuate between 21°C and 22°C in the High Fens, and between 25°C and 26°C in Campine and Gaume.
Wednesday promises another sunny day, albeit with occasional high clouds. The sky will become increasingly cloudy towards the end of the day in the western part of the country. Maximum temperatures will range from 23°C to 28°C, with an isolated possibility of 30°C.
A weak cold front will pass over the country on Thursday, resulting in an overcast sky and light rain, predominantly affecting the north-west. Following this, sunny skies will make a return. A moderate south-westerly wind will accompany temperatures ranging from 20°C to 24°C.
Friday will begin with a somewhat cloudy sky, presenting potential showers in the north-west. The sky will clear up later in the day, with a few high clouds as an exception. It will be slightly cooler, with maximum temperatures of between 18°C and 22°C.
