Brussels police on Sunday detained a man found with 17 cocaine pellets on his person in Schaerbeek.
The Brussels-North police zone reported on Tuesday that officers had seen the suspect remove what appeared to be suspicious items from his undergarments at Queen’s Square, Schaerbeek. A subsequent search unveiled 17 cocaine pellets hidden in his underwear and some cash.
A raid on his residence led to the seizure of an additional 100 grammes of cocaine, a mobile phone and €2,827.
The individual, previously unknown to police, was taken into custody and placed at the disposal of the Brussels Public Prosecutor’s Office. He was released after questioning and is scheduled to appear in court in October under a fast-track procedure.
