The Fashion Store has acquired Belgian fashion brand Terre Bleue, after the latter filed for bankruptcy earlier this summer.

In June, Duror Fashion Group (the parent company of Terre Bleue as well as fashion brands Gigue and Zilton) filed for bankruptcy, citing excessive debt and cutthroat competition. The move meant the loss of 150 jobs and the closure of 29 stores managed by the group.

Buyers have already been confirmed for two of the three fashion brands, with L&V Fashion acquiring Zilton and Castellino taking over Gigue. Now, Belgian fashion retail chain The Fashion Store has confirmed it has acquired the Terre Bleue brand.

"We have worked with Terre Bleue for years, so we are delighted to assume ownership of the brand," said Mayke Nooteboom of The Fashion Store.

"We are saddened by Terre Bleue’s bankruptcy, as no other brand can fulfil the unique role it played in our range," he added, but said The Fashion Store is "committed to respecting the Tere Bleue legacy".

Exact details of the deal haven’t been released yet, but The Fashion Store said it plans to unveil a new Terre Bleue collection in summer 2025.

"We’ll pay careful attention to the distinctive features of the brand, the target audience, the range, the cuts, and the superior quality of the clothing finish," said Nootoboom.
