Belgium no longer has the highest job vacancy rate in the EU: figures from the European statistical office now show that Austria tops the job vacancy table, with a rate of 4.5%.
Belgium and the Netherlands follow closely behind, with a rate of 4.4% each, Eurostat reported on Friday.
One year ago, Belgium had a job vacancy rate of 4.7%.
The average rate for the European Union in the first quarter of 2024 was 2.6%, lower than in the corresponding period of last year.
In the Eurozone, the rate stands at 2.9%, unchanged from the first quarter of 2023.
