During the Car Free Sunday on 22 September, Belgian railway operator SNCB is again offering its Mobility Ticket that allows anyone anywhere in the country a return by train for just €8.
With Mobility Week, the European Commission aims to promote sustainable transport. The highlight of the campaign is Car Free Sunday on 22 September in the Brussels-Capital Region, as well as many other cities and municipalities.
To mark the occasion, SNCB is offering the Mobility Ticket, a second-class ticket at €8 for a return trip between two Belgian stations. The aim is to convince more travellers to leave the car aside and opt for the train instead.
"Besides being safe and comfortable, the train is also the most sustainable means of transport par excellence. Those who travel by train produce up to six times less CO2 than by car," the operator said in a press release.
The ticket is valid throughout the Car Free Sunday and can be purchased on all SNCB sales channels, including its website.
