Nine suspects have been detained following police raids conducted in Brussels as part of an investigation into an alleged drug trafficking ring, capital police reported on Monday.
During the searches, police seized 50 grammes of cocaine, around €7,500, and two vehicles.
The trafficking ring, particularly active in cocaine distribution, was organised so as to be available 24/7 for drug consumers in the capital.
In early September, police had already detained some of the traffickers, which led to the opening of the investigation.
“The final step of the investigation took place last Tuesday when the Narcotics Section conducted searches at multiple addresses,” police said.
Seven of the nine suspects held during the operation were placed under arrest warrants for drug trafficking, while the other two were detained pending deportation.
