Traffic on the outer Brussels Ring Road towards Zaventem will be reduced to a single lane at the Léonard junction this weekend, the Flemish Traffic Agency announced on Friday.

A 145-metre long tent will be installed at the end of the tunnel to allow the construction work to continue regardless of weather conditions.

At present, drivers travelling from Waterloo towards Zaventem pass through the Léonard tunnel via the inner ring road. This route will therefore be reduced to a single lane on Saturday and Sunday.

For traffic on the inner ring road (from Zaventem to Waterloo), nothing will change. Motorists will continue to travel on the surface via the Léonard junction, as has been the case since the beginning of July.

In November, a second tent will be erected at the other end of the tunnel (on the Waterloo side).
