The ninth edition of the PhotoBrussels Festival will take place in the capital from 23 January to 23 February, showcasing the works of hundreds of artists across some 46 varied exhibition venues.
Created in 2016 by Delphine Dumont from Hangar, the festival aims to bring together photography enthusiasts, practitioners, and professionals for a month-long celebration of contemporary photography in all its diversity.
"PhotoBrussels Festival perfectly reflects the multifaceted identity of Brussels: cosmopolitan, vibrant, creative, a European capital, and profoundly human," stated the festival's founder, Delphine Dumont. More than just a cultural event, it is a vibrant celebration of photography as the city turns into an artistic exploration ground.
Last year, over 100,000 visitors explored Brussels during the festival. In addition to exhibition openings, each venue will host discussions, conferences, workshops, book signings, and artist talks.

Highlights include the exhibition by the artistic duo Pierre Liebaert and Sandrine Lopez at Archiraar Gallery, and the photo series 'Le chant de l'Ours' by France Dubois at Berlin Brussels Art Projects.
The cultural centre Jacques Franck will feature Rami Hara and Ugo Woatzi's exhibition 'The Subtle Gesture', which questions expectations related to masculinities and explores diverse identities.
'Zones', an exhibition by photographers Pauline Vanden Neste and Tom Lyon, will portray a territory subject to liberal policies conducive to gentrification. Another significant venue, La Forest Divonne gallery, will spotlight historic prints by French architectural photographer Lucien Hervé.
