The ‘film’ about Stromae's ‘Multitude’ European tour, which he had had to interrupt in May 2023 for health reasons, will be broadcast on television on 6 December, the Belgian star announced on social media on Tuesday evening.

The film will be shown on the French channel TMC and the TF1+ streaming platform, before being offered on YouTube from 14 December.

Stromae had said he needed a rest, and called a halt to his entire tour, which had already been partially halted, although it was due to run until December 2023. He was due to perform in several cities in France, Belgium and Germany.

"Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support," he wrote in a social media post in early September. ‘Your kindness and empathy following the cancellation of the end of the tour have touched me enormously."

"I am aware that this situation may have disappointed some people and I would have liked to end the Multitude adventure on a better note," Stromae added. "That's why, with my team (...), we've put together all the existing images from the live show so that you can discover it for free or simply relive it."

Tested by an mega world tour in the wake of his 2013 album ‘Racine carrée’, Stromae first threw in the towel at the end of 2015, undermined by depression aggravated by the side effects of an anti-malarial drug.

One of the most listened-to French-speaking artists in the world, he finally returned to the stage in 2022, to present ‘Multitude’.

This third album won him a sixth and seventh Victoire de la musique, the French equivalent of the American Grammy Awards.

The singer confessed to ‘suicidal thoughts’ in ‘L'enfer,’ a strongly autobiographical track released in 2022.
