Nine men sentenced for drug dealing at Tomorrowland

The Antwerp Correctional Court has sentenced nine men for selling or distributing drugs during the first weekend of the Tomorrowland festival in Boom (Antwerp province).

Marko M. (25), who did not appear in court, received the harshest punishment. He was identified by a drug detection dog on 19 July and was found in possession of 456 MDMA tablets, cocaine and ketamine. The court sentenced him to 30 months in prison and fined him €8,000.

Dylan A. (30) was apprehended while taking cocaine out of his pocket and passing it around to his friends. He was also found guilty of distributing drugs. He was sentenced to 140 hours of community service and given an €8,000 suspended fine.

Other defendants received suspended sentences of up to 20 months for drug trafficking on the festival grounds.

The court will address additional cases related to Tomorrowland on 16 December.
