The upgrading of the Nivelles-Brussels railway line (Line 124) to four tracks will result in a complete suspension of train services this weekend between the two cities, announced railway network operator Infrabel on Thursday.

This interruption will begin at dawn on Saturday the 7th and end at dawn on Monday the 9th.

SNCB will provide alternative transportation. All trains will be replaced by buses between Brussels-South and Nivelles.

Additionally, S19 trains serving Louvain-Brussels/Schuman-Nivelles will only operate between Louvain, Brussels Airport-Zaventem, and Brussels-Luxembourg.

The scheduled works include laying new tracks between Waterloo and Braine-l’Alleud. In Braine-l’Alleud station, preliminary work for platform renewal will take place.

Further along the line, technical teams will install foundations for new poles to support electric power cables. Additionally, finishing track work and signalling interventions will occur between Lillois and Nivelles.
